Executive Producer Pierce Brosnan returns to the festival with this award winning documentary, co-directed by Keely Shaye Brosnan and Teresa Tico, that encourages audiences to join the international debate about GMO’s and pesticides raging around the world. It aims to inspire a conversation about people’s “right to know”, the necessity of “informed consent”, and holding corporations accountable. Live in Hawaii? Breathe its air? This is stuff you need to know.
Pierce Brosnan will accept the festival’s Pathfinder Award in a tribute June 23 at the Celestial Cinema on the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course.
Later that evening, the festival will screen the environmental documentary “Poisoning Paradise,” which Brosnan executive produced and his wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan, directed and produced with Teresa Tico.
Brosnan, who owns a home on Kauai, may be best known around the world for his suave portrayals of British secret agent 007 James Bond in the ’90s, (earning over a billion dollars) for the action-film franchise between 1995 and 2002.

A’ina – That Which Feeds Us
ʻĀINA (pronounced “eye-nah”) means “That Which Feeds Us” in the Hawaiian language. The film highlights a way to address some of the most pressing environmental and health crises facing the island of Kauai – and of island Earth. That may sound like an outstanding claim, but as ʻĀINA vividly illustrates, such is the power of agriculture and food for people and the planet.
