DoH in Wailuku

DoH got our hearing on an injunction to stop burning postponed. So Friday instead of going to court we’re going to the next building over where the Dept of Health is located and protest DoH for teaming up with A&B to damage our health.

Please come at 8:30am with a red shirt or a stop cane burning shirt. If you can bring a sign along the lines of “SHAME ON YOU, DoH”. We’ll be there for only an hour so try and arrive on time.

Today the State’s (Deputy AG defending DoH) motion today was a continuation of its claim at hearing on February 5 that the Court should not do anything the amended complaint is approved and filed. The Court granted the motion which delays the hearing of our request for preliminary injunctive relief.

The practical effect of today’s decision is that there will now be a another round of filings and possibly court hearings regarding non-substantive procedural issues before we can get the new court date for the injunction.
