Zen Honeycutt: Trinette Furtado, 5th generation Hawaiian

In November, 2015, The SHAKA Movement hosted Moms Across America (MAA) founder and director, Zen Honeycutt, for a tour of some of the “known” biotech test sites on Maui. Honeycutt was provided the opportunity to interview some of Hawai’i’s politicians, health care providers, moms and community leaders who have stood up to the companies responsible for poisoning paradise, its residents and visitors.

There are numerous restricted use chemical pesticides and herbicides used heavily on the islands to test chemical “tolerance on plants” with little regard for its effect on neighboring hospitals, schools and homes.

SHAKA & MAA are collaborating in unison on a plan to test residents on Maui and the mainland, respectively, in a program titled “Your Right to Health” in which participants will learn how much glyphosate (the cancer causing ingredient in Roundup) is in their urine.

The results will help create a data map of toxicity to assist in correlating chemical exposure to specific health and environmental issues and contribute to changing EPA policy and the future of farming.

In her talks, Ms. Honeycutt presents Moms Across America’s education and empowerment platform that has led millions of moms away from GMOs in favor of organic and sustainable solutions – choices that protect families and health.

Honeycutt has spoken around the world and before major corporations about “Our Right To Know,” the dangers of glyphosate, GMOs and their impact on children and health.
